Check ups & Cleanings

Regular dental check-ups and cleanings are essential for maintaining good oral health. They help prevent dental issues, detect problems early on, and keep your teeth and gums clean and healthy.

We are not here to shame or judge you, we are hear to help you! We care about your dental health and only want the best for you, therefore it's important to be honest with us so we can meet your needs and take care of you. Any concerns or symptoms you have been experiencing, we’ll want to know.

Here’s what to expect during your check up and cleaning visit:

  • Exam: We will visually inspect your teeth and gums, looking for signs of decay, gum disease, or other oral health problems.

  • X-rays: X-rays may be taken to detect hidden issues such as cavities, bone loss, or impacted teeth.

  • Oral cancer screening: We may check for signs of oral cancer by examining your tongue, throat, gums, and other oral tissues.

  • Treatment plan: Based on the examination and your concerns, we will develop a treatment plan for you.

    Dental Cleaning:

    • Plaque and tartar removal: Our hygienist will use specialized tools to remove plaque and tartar (hardened plaque) from your teeth.

    • Teeth polishing: After removing the plaque and tartar, our hygienist will polish your teeth using a gritty toothpaste-like substance and a rotating brush. This helps remove surface stains and leaves your teeth smooth and shiny.

    • Flossing: Our hygienist will floss between your teeth to remove any remaining plaque or debris.

    • Fluoride treatment is an option if you would like, this is applied to strengthen your teeth and protect against cavities.

It is generally recommended to have a dental check-up and cleaning every six months. However, the frequency may vary depending on your oral health and any specific conditions you may have. We will advise you on the appropriate schedule for your check-ups and cleanings.
